As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Head of HR to lead and scale our people operations across a multi-state footprint.

This role is essential to ensuring our internal systems, culture, and compliance practices evolve in step with our rapid growth. From onboarding and employee experience to HR systems and state-by-state compliance, the Head of HR will play a critical role in building a scalable, people-first foundation that supports every function of the business.

You’ll be the strategic and operational force behind our people strategy- overseeing onboarding, offboarding, policies, compliance, and performance. You’ll work cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Production to build an employee experience that supports retention, compliance, and long-term company growth. This role is part builder, part guardian, and 100% essential to how we operate at scale.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own all HR operations and compliance across multiple states, including onboarding, offboarding, employee documentation, and HRIS

  • Develop, update, and implement clear, scalable HR policies and employee handbooks in line with state and federal labor laws(especially California)

  • Ensure HR systems are structured, streamlined, and easy to navigate—supporting a positive employee experience from hire to exit

  • Act as the go-to person for employee relations and engagement, fostering a fair, inclusive, and feedback-forward culture

  • Manage compensation benchmarking, offer letters, and promotions with consistency and clarity

  • Stay ahead of cannabis and employment law shifts and ensure internal processes remain compliant across jurisdictions

  • Lead any HR-related audits or state-required documentation and filings

  • Help build an employer brand and recruiting process that reflects our bold and high-growth environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • 7+ years of experience in HR leadership, people ops, or HR compliance

  • Prior cannabis or high-growth startup experience required; MSO experience a strong plus

  • Experience owning or helping build HR systems, handbooks, and processes from the ground up

  • A structured, proactive mindset and the ability to build clarity in the gray

  • A “people-first, process-forward” leadership style that values both empathy and precision

  • Calm under pressure and thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments
